Mobility - Poland | Awareness

Our second mobility activity, this time to Poland, was an incredible opportunity to deepen our knowledge of climate change, organic farming, and human rights. Through the eTwinning project, participants had the chance to explore Polish culture, tour the school and surrounding areas, and collaborate with peers from different countries. Over the course of a few intense days, we collectively discovered how crucial it is to care for our planet and the challenges agriculture faces in the face of climate change. It was an unforgettable experience, full of knowledge, emotions, and new friendships.

Finally, the long-awaited mobility to Poland! After arriving by plane, the excitement was palpable. We kicked off with a warm welcome, followed by ice-breaking activities that allowed everyone to get to know each other. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, setting the tone for the days ahead. Our host school was introduced, and we took a tour of the premises. It was fascinating to see the educational environment in Poland and learn about the school’s history and culture.

Next, we gathered to write down our expectations in the "wish column." It was a great way to set goals for the week. Then, the participants presented the results of their research on “The Effects of Climate Change in Agriculture and Organic Agriculture,” which we had prepared beforehand through the eTwinning project. The presentations were well-supported with visuals, sparking rich discussions about the global challenges we face.

To wrap up the day, we were split into three mixed groups of four to prepare for the activities in the coming days. The anticipation was building, and everyone was eager to dive into the project!

Today was all about hands-on learning! We visited the school garden, where we got an in-depth look at the agricultural activities taking place. We had the chance to recognize and photograph new plant species, which was both fun and educational. The highlight of the day was learning about organic farming. With the guidance of an expert teacher, we were able to experience organic farming practices firsthand. It was amazing to see how much care and attention goes into producing food sustainably.

In the afternoon, we planted trees to create a "project souvenir forest." Each tree represented one of the partner countries in the project. It was a meaningful and symbolic way to celebrate our collaboration and leave a lasting mark on the school grounds.

Today, we shifted our focus to the intersection of climate change, agriculture, and human rights. The project groups worked together to solve puzzles related to these issues, stimulating thoughtful conversations. We also brainstormed materials that could help protect agriculture, and everyone contributed ideas, which were written on the board.

The most impactful part of the day was when we dramatized different opinions on the subject. Each group had three minutes to present their point of view, showcasing different perspectives on climate change and its human rights implications. In between, we were reminded of the devastating effects of war, which deprives people of their fundamental right to life. It was a powerful and emotional session that left everyone reflecting on the importance of preserving both human rights and the environment.

Today we ventured outside the school to explore the beautiful village of Zalipie, located 36 km from Tarnow. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Zalipie was the perfect place to study vegetation and connect with nature. We took in the breathtaking scenery, capturing photographs of the lush vegetation that surrounded us.

Later, we visited several historical sites in Tarnow, including the Town Hall, Old Art Gallery, and the charming Old City District. The Solar System Fountain and Bania Water Tower were also highlights of the tour. It was a fantastic mix of history and nature, and we made sure to capture the beauty of it all. The photographs we took will be used to create an e-book that documents our discoveries, combining nature’s beauty with our project’s themes.

The final day arrived all too quickly. We filled out evaluation questionnaires, reflecting on everything we had learned and experienced during the mobility. It was heartwarming to read the notes in the “wish column” and realize how many of our goals had been achieved.

We wrapped up the week with a Certificate Ceremony, celebrating the hard work and dedication of all the participants. The farewell night was filled with emotions, laughter, and fond memories. It was hard to say goodbye, but we left with new knowledge, lasting friendships, and a shared commitment to tackling the challenges of climate change and preserving agriculture for future generations. What an incredible journey this has been!

The final day had come, and it was filled with mixed emotions. After a heartfelt breakfast together, it was time to say our goodbyes. Families of the participants arrived at the school to bid farewell, creating an emotional atmosphere. The bond we had formed over the past days was palpable, and it was hard to believe our time in Poland had come to an end.

There were hugs, handshakes, and promises to stay in touch, as we exchanged contact information with our new friends from different countries. The farewell was bittersweet, but it was clear that this experience had created lasting memories that would stay with us forever.

As we said our goodbyes to the host families and teachers, there were a few final photos taken, capturing the special moments of this journey. The families were so kind and welcoming throughout the week, and their warmth had made the experience even more memorable.

Then, it was time to head to the airport. The journey home was bittersweet, as we reflected on everything we had learned and experienced. We were full of gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful project. As we boarded the plane, we knew that this was not the end but rather the beginning of a continued commitment to the lessons learned and the friendships made.
